Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of learning from Kara Loewentheil in her Advanced Certification in Feminist Coaching (ACFC). At the conclusion of the course, I wrote a new module for my clients entitled, The Organizing and Productivity Promised Land. This workbook and series of lessons explores the ways women have been socialized to see their role within the domestic sphere. I question and challenge what we’ve been taught, and how the standards and expectations we strive to achieve can limit our pleasure and overall happiness.

It was my honor to share this work with fellow ACFC and Life Coach School Certified Coach Amber Taylor. Listen in as we discuss:

  • What The Organizing and Productivity Promised Land is and how it’s ultimately a myth

  • How your brain behaves when striving for this level of perfection

  • Why “there” (in The Promised Land) isn’t any better than “here”

  • Aspects of socialization that women, especially women of color, have been unconsciously raised to meet

  • How to begin to detach your self-worth from domestic responsibilities and its accompanying emotional labor and begin to reclaim it for yourself

  • How I use a decision-making filter in multiple areas of my life in order to live intentionally

  • Why you are capable of taking the first step towards what you want, no matter your starting place

I invite you to take a listen and share your feedback below.
